Almost a month down the line, and I imagine everyone has pretty much recovered now? No? OK then...

2005 was yet another fantastic Benicassim. I hope everyone had as good a time as we did! You can expect a lot more updates in the coming months, but in the meantime you can head over to the forum to see if you can piece together what happened, and have a look at a great set of photos contributed by members of the forum!

Doves have been moved to the main stage (Verde) on Friday. Mando Diao are swapped into the smaller tent, with Joseph Arthur now assuming the mantle of headliner on that stage.

Hi all, if you're reading this, you're at the new go-faster-stripey version of FIB UK. If you could take a moment to comment below on what you think to the makeover, we'd really appreciate it - particularly if it looks like a bug-ridden mess in your browser! Thanks and enjoy...

As a bit of an informal introduction to the new site, how about some recommendations of good bands to see? At the end of this entry there's a 'comments' section for you to post your own thoughts, but here are mine:

Thursday's FIBStart event is something I'd definitely recommend everyone attends. After... (more)

Bringing this site to life...

I've decided to attempt to bring some life to this site by (temporarily, at least) turning it into a blog-based affair.

With only a month to go, I thought this would make a more effective method of communicating information than an inactive website and an awkward forum!

Much more content to follow shortly...

Getting there

So where is it then?
On the east coast of Spain, specifically the “Costa Del Azahar”. In basic terms, it’s in between Barcelona and Valencia, but much closer to the latter. Barcelona is well over 100 miles away, with Valencia only about 50. Closer than both of these is the nearest city, Castellon de la Plana, which is less than 10 miles away. In short, it’s not as simple as flying into an airport and walking into the festival gate.

How do I get there?
First of all you have to get to Spain. The good news here is that, particularly if you book early, flights are CHEAP! In the... (more)

Buying Tickets

When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets are on sale now - check out the sidebar links to buy! The festival has not tended to sell out quickly, so there wouldn’t seem to be a huge rush to buy. However, as with all festival decisions you can never be too careful. More and more people are going to festivals across Europe, so be prepared for disappointment if you don’t book early.

Where can I buy tickets?
See the sidebar for all internet options. In 2004, for the first time, the NME.com ticket shop carried tickets for Benicassim. This is undoubtedly the easiest and most reassuring method of... (more)

Hello, and welcome to the first unofficial website written entirely in English about the Benicassim Festival in Spain. August 2004 saw the festival's tenth anniversary and its real arrival on the international festival scene. Wandering the streets of the town you couldn't help but notice something slightly different this year: English voices - absolutely everywhere! So the idea struck: a site for you lot. And here it is. Enjoy!

The main aim of this site is simple: to compile a massive resource of information about the festival aimed at improving your enjoyment of the festival. ... (more)

IX FESTIVAL DE BENICASSIM - 2003

Europe is drowning in its own sweat; forest fires rage across Spain as
temperatures reach 40 degrees, decide its not enough and push the mercury up yet
further. A sign next to me points to a desert. There’s no sign of Queens of
the Stone Age, but someone put a music festival here. The other direction
points to shade, pools and beaches. This had better be worth it.

The Festival Internacional de Benicassim, now in its ninth year, pays little
regard to the conventions of what you or I would regard as a festival. The
artists and... (more)
